
OVERVIEW
The Government of Ontario is committed to encouraging conservation,
and will continue efforts to help residents achieve their home energy
efficiency goals. The Ontario Government will continue to fund
new pre-retrofit audits and retrofits. This means we will continue to
pay 50% of your home’s audit, up to $150. Audits will qualify you for
up to $5,000 in provincial retrofit grants.
ELIGIBILITY
- Live in Ontario
- Own a single family home (detached or semi-detached home or a
low-rise, multi-unit residential building that is three stories or
less and less than 600 square meters)
- A pre-retrofit audit by a certified energy advisor whose
company is licensed by Natural Resources Canada.
- Making some or all of the recommended energy saving upgrades
on the Energy Efficiency Evaluation Report
- When replacing ANY of the equipment, the new equipment must
have an efficiency rating higher than that of the original
equipment. The second system must be of the same type and
efficiency. New installations are not eligible in cases where
improvements listed state “Replace”.
- All upgrades or renovations must meet local codes and by-laws.
- Renovations that are part of an addition made to a property
following the pre-retrofit evaluation are not eligible for a
retrofit grant and may reduce the grant amount for the improvement
done on the existing portion of the house.
